C11 Align
Wellness Centre
Disability access certification and fire safety compliance for a modern wellness facility, incorporating universal design principles throughout.

Universal design for wellness and wellbeing
C11 Align is a contemporary wellness centre in Dublin that brings together fitness, therapy, and rehabilitation services under one roof. F5 Engineering was engaged to deliver disability access certification and fire safety compliance — ensuring the facility is genuinely accessible to all users, not simply meeting minimum requirements.
Wellness facilities present unique accessibility challenges. The diversity of activities — from gym floors and studio spaces to treatment rooms and hydrotherapy areas — requires thoughtful design that accommodates users of all abilities without compromising the premium experience the brand demands.
Disability access certification
Our accessibility scope went beyond standard DAC compliance. Working with the design team from early concept stage, we integrated universal design principles into every aspect of the facility. This included accessible reception and circulation routes, adaptable treatment rooms, inclusive changing facilities with ambulant and wheelchair-accessible provisions, and accessible wet areas.
The Disability Access Certificate was prepared against TGD M requirements, with particular attention to the practical usability of spaces rather than just dimensional compliance. We ensured that accessible routes, facilities, and features are dignified and integrated — not afterthoughts or separate provisions.
Fire safety compliance
The fire safety design addressed the specific challenges of a wellness facility, including high-humidity environments, specialist equipment, and mixed-use areas. Our fire strategy incorporated appropriate detection systems for different zones, fire-rated construction between treatment and common areas, and means of escape designed around the building's unique circulation patterns.
Design integration
A key aspect of this project was the seamless integration of compliance requirements into the design intent. Fire-rated materials were specified that met both performance requirements and aesthetic standards. Accessibility features were incorporated as natural elements of the interior design rather than visible adaptations. The result is a wellness environment where compliance is invisible but comprehensive.
